Hello Friends, it's been awile...
I just ran my first refresh... I am on a Bluefang server and I entered the console command, but the way the console works on Bluefang, I am not sure it accepted the command. I did not set the day cycle to "1" as per the alternate way of restarting, and it's running the patch now. I assume it's bad news to stop the process now, am I in trouble or will this just take longer? What can I expect here, if anyone knows?
Re: Map Refresh #1
2It appears that if you do not set your days to '1' as suggested, you must wait until your next midnight cycle. If anyone was wondering.
Re: Map Refresh #1
3Ok so I went into my server all was fine. I stopped it, ran database maintenance and built a road using terrain editor, started it back up, and it is patching again now
...

Re: Map Refresh #1
4And now it's patching for a third time, which I am certain is not correct. Did everything in the instructions...
Re: Map Refresh #1
5In the end it worked, but that took 8 hours!!! hopefully this helps someone avoid this in the future!
Set daycycle to 1 and animal count to 0 when doing a map refresh on bluefang servers!

Re: Map Refresh #1
6the reason we ask people to change the daycycle to 1 (which is the minimum) is so that they don't have to wait for the next midnight cycle for too long.
