Hello,
I'm getting ready to start my own LiF: YO dedicated server, and I was curious about using a custom map. On the last public server that I played on for this game, they used a custom map that was really nice, but totally messed up the tracking feature for hunting. If the terrain elevation was too far off of the base map, the tracks would appear inside the terrain or in the air above. This was both extremely immersion breaking, and it made hunting a lot more difficult than it was intended to be.
Is this the case with every custom map, or are certain maps immune to this problem? In particular I was interested in the Riverside map which is an official FeudalTools map.
Thank you in advance for your help!
Re: Question Regarding Custom Maps & Hunting
2Hi, if admins are a little bit careless about following the setup instructions for custom maps, they will end up with a broken navmesh for animals which messes up both the animals navigation and the tracking feature. Take a look at the FAQ page, which describes how you can easily fix it: https://feudal.tools/index.php?s=faq
Though it shouldn't ever happen if you just precisely follow the setup instructions.
