Hi there! I've had a couple of reports of people making transactions with the trading post and their money disappears when doing crown sales. Is this a known bug and is there a fix for this?

no known bugs of this kind.
you can trace every transaction through the admin transaction log. if you have exact info when the transaction occurred and who did it and what items were traded, it should be possible to track issues.
